trumpet tree

I just got back from a little vacation down south in Florida and Georgia. I kept noticing these pretty tabebuia trees that were flowering in Florida. The yellow trumpet like blooms were dropping from the trees in the wind littering the grass with eye candy. This is my little Penny enjoying the dropped blossoms. I can't wait for the trees to start blooming here soon!

new in shop: dried plumosa fern wreath

new in the shop is a dried plumosa fern wreath! Soft to the touch, plumosa fern wreath has a natural organic feel. Professionally preserved to keep the texture, feel and softness. free people's floral fields

Free people contacted me and thought I might be interested in these photos from their latest march catalog. I can't help it! I am! My inner bohemian indie flower field child is screaming. Shot in floral fields of Lompoc, California the setting is perfect for their spring collection. Looking closely these photos, it looks like fields of stock which not only is bright and bold but has a lovely scent too.

Long Island Wedding at an Herb Farm.

I was able to help make a beautiful organic wedding by designing the flowers for a wedding at an herb farm on Long Island, NY. It was featured on Style Me Pretty here. The photos were by the talented Love By Serena and the scene was set at the gorgeous Peconic herb farm.

The bride chose my dried bridal bouquet, available here along with the matching boutonnieres here.
I also made the centerpieces, field harvest, also available here.
The bride, Stephanie, said some lovely words : The bouquets were from Flores del Sol. They’re still beautiful and I consider them heirloom pieces.

croton leaf

It fell off my croton plant that I've pinched back to promote lateral growth. The veins in the sunlight are gorgeous.

new in shop: modern farmhouse arrangement

As I was making this design, it reminded me of grasses that surround an old farmhouse, much like the one I grew up in. Paired with the modern warm-wood toned vase the mixture equals modern farmhouse arrangement. Available in the shop now here!

Houseplant ID: string of pearls

String of pearls, also know as string of beads or Senecio rowleyanus. A succulent houseplant, their cascading bead/pea like stems are an attractive focal point to a room and need little care. One of my favorites.

macrame floral design

I came across this photoshoot for style me pretty. My eyes were in heaven! The gorgeous floral garden designs in the hanging macrame planters as a centerpiece are exquisite. What a statement it makes. And I also have a slight obsession for vintage thonet chairs to top off that great tablescape :)

gray light

Some phone shots I took of green growing this morning in my apartment as large snowflakes are falling outside my window. I noticed as I was watering my plants, the sunlight has become cold and gray signifying the start of winter. My amaryllis bulbs are still sprouting towards the gray light though. Once the bulbs sprout a little more, my girls and I will pot them up as teacher gifts for the holidays again this year.

I love my macrame planter above from Chris at etsy shop macrame design. There are so many to choose from and great prices too. I paired it with a ceramic planter I made in college and its now one of my favorite corners in my apartment. I'm tempted to get another for my bedroom soon!
